Butterflies
26th Jun 2014
Over the past five weeks Primary 1 & 2 have been carefully observing the development of some little caterpillars as they made the transformation into chrysalis and finally broke free from their cocoon in the form of five painted lady butterflies. We set up the iPad over lunchtime and recorded one of them hatching. To make sure they got the right food we gave them a sugar mixture and some juicy oranges. We kept them in the class for a few days and then released them outside and are hoping that they will stay nearby for us to see them in their natural habitat.
