Exploring our senses

Exploring our senses

Who would have thought that we use all of our senses when eating crisps! We took some time to describe what we could see. Colour shape and size were all noted. When it came to smelling the crisps Maebh, Aaron and Jack S accurately named the flavours in the bowls. Some of the children referred to the crisps in terms of the colour of the packets. We got to taste the crisps, which meant we used the senses of touch, taste and hearing. This generated lots of discussion and vocabulary such as describing the taste as being salty, fuzzy or fizzy on their tongue. It was great fun trying to match the packet to the correct bowl, most of us did really well at this!
