Mrs Doyle’s Primary 5 and 6 class have been travelling back in time this term as they explore the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt. From the very beginning of this topic, the children have been captivated by the rich history of this remarkable civilisation and its achievements in artwork, engineering, food and daily life.
The class were particularly inspired by the incredible artwork of Ancient Egypt. They have studied detailed wall paintings, symbolic hieroglyphics and beautifully decorated artefacts, learning how art was used not only for decoration but to tell stories and record important events. As you can see, the children have created their own Egyptian-style artwork, carefully using colour and patterns to reflect what they had learned about Egyptian beliefs, costume and traditions.
