P5 & P6 Discover the Magic of Science at Navan Fort!

Science Week 2026 - Trip to Navan Fort
As part of Science Week 2026, our Primary 5 and 6 classes enjoyed a fantastic, educational trip to Navan Fort on Monday.
During the visit, the children learned all about pressure, molecules, gases, diffusion and much more, through a series of exciting and interactive experiments. Professor Pip kept everyone thoroughly entertained while demonstrating some amazing experiments using our own breath and balloon air. The children were fascinated by the results (which sometimes weren’t what we expected!)
We were also lucky enough to meet a real-life Viking, who explained how Vikings navigated the globe long before Google Maps existed.
To finish the day, Scientific Sue made bubbles of all shapes, sizes and densities.
We are very grateful to the staff at Navan Fort, who continue to find engaging and creative ways to teach our children about the world around them.
